Police have issued a warning following a disruptive protest at a restaurant in Brighton.

Approximately 20 people were involved in an animal rights protest at McDonald’s, in London Road, about 7.35pm on Friday 17 May.

Police provided an immediate response which concluded with a woman being arrested.

Dylan Roffey, 23, of Terminus Road, Brighton, was arrested and charged with criminal damage and obstructing or resisting a person assisting a constable in the execution of their duty. She is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 6 June.

District Commander Rachel Swinney said: “We will work with organisers to facilitate peaceful protests that balance the rights of those to protest without disproportionately affecting the rights of the general public. However, we will not tolerate criminal or intimidating behaviour.”
