Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in East Street, Brighton, early on Saturday (23 February).
At around a 1.15am, a 32-year-old man received a slash wound to his neck as he was walking near the taxi rank. He was taken to hospital. The injury was not life threatening and he was treated and released.
A man was arrested shortly afterwards and charged.
Detective Constable Ed Downes said: "This was a vicious attack with a knife that left a man needing stitches and could obviously have ended quite differently. We are very eager to speak to anyone who saw the incident including any taxis drivers waiting in the nearby rank.
"We are keen to identify any witnesses who can assist our investigation. Please get in touch."

* Danny Lee Quinn, 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cocaine. He appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Monday (25 February) and has been recalled to prison for revoking his prison licence.
