A man has appeared in court after being arrested following an incident in St James's Street, Brighton, on Wednesday evening (September 4).
James Jeater, 34, unemployed, of no fixed address, was arrested later that evening and charged with harassment - put in fear of violence, in relation to alleged offences between February 1 and September 5. Additionally, he was charged with criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 on September 4 and two counts of assault by beating. The latter two charges relate to two separate assaults on the same victim alleged to have taken place on August 30 and September 1.
He was remanded to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Friday (September 6), where he was further remanded to reappear on October 30.
