Appeal for witnesses to stabbing in Worthing

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in West Street, Worthing, on Sunday (17 February) at about 10.40pm.

The 20-year-old victim suffered two stab wounds to his lower back and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for treatment. His injuries were not life threatening and he was later released from hospital.

It is believed the man was followed by two men, one of who stabbed him from behind. He managed to run into the Travelodge hotel in Marine Parade to ask for assistance.

Detective Constable Mark Turner said: "We want to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information about it. Please get in touch."
